I set a goal on Goodreads to read at least 20 books this year. I know 20 seems super low-sadly-because I used to read 6 books a week when I was younger and now life just seems to get in the way all the time. So I'm going to shoot for 20 and hope that I can up my number! I'm 1 down! I just finished Brother Odd by Dean Koontz!
Here's what's on my current TBR list:
Books I own but haven't read yet: (in no particular order)
A few books I really want to buy and read this year: (in no particular order)

Angie!!! You haven't read Hunger Games yet?!?! Tsk tsk my dear! You will love it!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the Odd Thomas series.
ReplyDeleteGood for you. 20 books is amazing. I don't read books. I read a lot of blogs and websites. I need to crack open a book! Don't feel bad :)

I loved teh Hunger Games series, the movie was not a good representation of the book at all. As for the Golden Compass I just couldn't get into that one. And if you do like it you really need to have the second book ready to go.
ReplyDeleteI don't know a lot of the titles you have so I am going to go look them up. 20 is not a small number! I too used to read a lot more than I do now, life changes, at least you are still reading.
Good luck on your list!
Caroline
You need to read The Hunger Games and The Fault In Our Stars PRONTO. Both are amazing! I'm currently waiting for Requiem (Delirium trilogy's final installment) and also for the last installment of Divergent. If you enjoy The Hunger Games, I highly recommend Divergent. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE the Phillip Pullman books. Lyra is my hero. :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, Gaiman of course is fantastic. Enjoy! I can't wait to dig into the two you sent me....yay reading!
(Also, don't feel guilty for reading less- you now have a full time job, pets, volunteering, need more sleep, and you're working out! I'd say two books a month is a great goal).
There a lot of books on here I need to read too! I haven't read the hunger games yet either!
ReplyDeleteI read the Hunger Games trio. Good books. If you like them, you should try Divergent/Insurgent series. Good reads...
ReplyDeleteI love this list!
ReplyDeleteI love making list of books. I need to do this myself.
I am overachieving on the Goodreads 2013 challenge, I set the bar at 100 since I can't keep my nose out of a book long enough to get anything done haha!
ReplyDeleteLove your list of books!
I really need to sign up for goodreads. It looks like such a good place to organize all your reading plans.
ReplyDeleteI've had Neil Gaiman on my mental list for some time now.
Our TBR lists are very different, but I have read 1 or 2 of yours.
ReplyDeleteI set a goal to read 40 this year. Which, for me, feels like a LOT. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I barely got to 30 last year.
Nice choices. I have been wanting to pick out new and quick reads.
ReplyDeleteyou have some really good books there
ReplyDeleteThe Golden Compass series is amazing! I hope you love it. My top books to read this year are the new Barbara Kingsolver, "Casual Vacancy" by J.K. Rowling, and the final book in the "Wheel of Time" series. I totally need to go through the books I own and haven't read yet and make a list like yours. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLOVE Neil Gaiman. Neverwhere is great, and Mr. Croup still freaks me out! The Graveyard Book is cute, too. I've also read the Witch's Daughter and the Wolves of Andover....both wonderful books. Your reading list has some books on it I want to read, too. Thanks so much for linking-up!
ReplyDeletexo,

I will be lucky if I manage to read 1 book during the year although last year I read 2 books........lol
ReplyDeleteE-mail me your snail mail addy and I'll send you a copy of The Witch of Portobello. I have two.
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked! You haven't read the Hunger Games?!?! One of my personal favorite reads. I think I read all three books in five days. Oh, to find a book like that...
