But let's start with Thursday, which isn't technically the weekend but we'll count it. My friend Julie is going through a rough breakup so she came over on Thursday to hang out. We ended up taking Tequila shots in the kitchen, making homemade guacamole and dancing in the kitchen the whole time.
All Natural, easy guacamole:
6 Avacados
2 Limes
1/4th and Onion
3 Tomatoes
Pinch of Salt
Mash all together and eat. Delicious.
Friday night we went over to Koko Kitchen for dinner again. Then I ended up at Jon and Meggy's house helping them get ready for Chad and Tia's wedding. Josh and I sat and made bottle cap magnets (for party favors) while Jon cooked up a ton of cupcakes, and Megan finished up sewing the wedding dress. Little Thor was not pleased that he wasn't getting all the attention.
Saturday was Chad and Tia's wedding. They had a simple ceremony with just family, then a reception with a bunch of friends and family, and then a drunken after party. We went to the reception and it was nice and chill... Have a beer, sign a shot glass, and take a few shots. No biggie. Way better than boring stuffy weddings.
The bride and groom. Cute!
The bride calling for a shot. So very Tia.

Pretty miss Brooke on the left, and Jon and Meggy on the right.
Sunday I felt the need for some "retail therapy" which isn't a norm for me. Julie, Josh and I ran to H&M for Josh (That store is so stupid... Julie and I hated it) and then we had lunch at Noodles & Co before going to Ross to shop. While my shopping experience was less than fabulous with the finds, Julie's was pretty Epic. She found an amazing red bubble hem dress she'll use for her Betty Boop costume, some black sequinned heals, a new little black dress, and when we went to Target some amazing orange boots.
I did get some new nail polish at DSW, and then at Target I was able to get some new shirts, some cute undies, and awesome yellow moccasins.
Other things that make me happy:
Last night I made Coconut Fried Chicken as seen on Pinterest. It turned out AMAZING. Seriously, so yummy and all of the ingredients plus a cherry pie cost me under $20.
I got my first Birchbox last week, look at all these goodies: A full size razor, curl styling lotion, facial cleanser, body butter, perfume sample, and some beauty tips. Cute!
Also my silly little Tomato plant has some tomatoes, and even a slightly bigger one. I've had Tomato plant for 2 years now, and it's always been inside so it doesn't really have the option to fertilize with other Tomato plants, and it doesn't get enough sun. I'm sure the Tomatoes aren't that edible, but they're cute and it was exciting. My finger is in the picture so you can see size.
Also, I hate to break it to you, but this is NOT dating Ken... At least not unless you are one of those girls that really can't tell he's a flaming homosexual. This is Gay Ken. Nothing wrong with that, just call it what it is... Straight boys do not dye their hair like that, nor do they wear those outfits... lol
What are you happy about? How was your weekend?

Haha. I love that Ken doll. He looks like my best friend Devin...who also happens to be gay! Sounds like you had a great week.
ReplyDeleteAbout Ken? Agreed. He can do his thang. Ain't nobody mad about it. ;) Your coconut chicken looks soooooo good, and glad you had fun at the wedding!
ReplyDeleteI must try that coconut chicken recipe! Looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteHA! That ken doll...hilarious! This is one of the many reasons I am terrified to be having a girl...I don't do Barbies...guess I'm gonna have to get over that! I'm totally fine with Evangeline having a gay Ken tho...hahaha
ReplyDeleteThere you go again, making me hungry. Sounds like a really fun weekend. And you're right, that Ken is not into girls.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great friend you are to hang out with Julie. Breakups suck and sometimes just having someone there with you (and the shots you took) helps!
ReplyDeleteI love H&M lol! Wearing a shirt and necklace that I bought there this weekend ;) I will say some locations suck. Like the one next to my work on Hollywood Blvd. Everything is crap!
P.S. Thanks for linking up with us :)
DeleteBwahaha! Dating Ken....I call it "beard Ken". ;)
ReplyDeleteThose itty bitty tomatoes are awesome! Mine are larger...and still green. Silly lack of sunshine.
And again, I'm now craving guacamole....something about your photos.
I'm glad you had a great weekend! And now you and Julie can go to single gal stuff! :D
what a happy bride and Ouch there goes all those little girl fantasies about Ken..lol
ReplyDeleteGreat Happy List! You have had a fun time with family and friends lately. :D LOVE your new t's....and you got them at Target? I need to go there for something else, so I might try to find some.
ReplyDeleteLOL seriously....that is Sassy Gay Friend Ken....nothing wrong with that...every girl needs one....
xo,
RJ
Oh man that quac looks sooooooooo GOOD!
ReplyDeleteI am happy that this week we get to move into our NEW HOUSE :D
