Friday, July 20th
We got up and had breakfast.
Julie decided that even though we hadn't showered in four days,
A pedicure was needed.
And while we sat there, a crazy bird swooped down, landed on the table,
took two pecks of our butter, and then swooped off.

We headed over to Palmers Point again to go play in the tide pools.
You had to walk down (and back up) a ton of stairs.
It was a great workout, and back up hurt so good.
We spent the next hour playing around on the rocks.
Which was also a great workout and balance game!

While we were climbing around a seal hopped right up and looked at us!
Then he took a nap.

We kept climbing on rocks, and I kept laughing at Julie and Josh.
They were really adventurous.
and silly...
It was a triumph when they reached places that were difficult.
Some places they had to figure out how to get back down...

Then Julie decided it would be easier to balance without shoes.

Good thing she painted those toenails...

Just then, another seal popped up to say hello.
He did not look comfortable.

Josh and Julie wondered if it was possible to go around the point of the cliff.

Josh: We can do it if we grab right here and swing over. But I'm not sure we can come back...
Julie: Yeah, that's so not happening...

So we went back to play on the rocks more...

And the shoes came off for both of them this time.

It was well worth it.

I saw barnacles for the first time ever.

And lots of Starfish!

I saw an Anemone and Sea Cucumbers

As well as a cute little crab stranded in a tide pool.
After we left Patrick's Point we went back to Humboldt County.
We camped in the Burlington Campground.

We also attended a campfire with the park ranger that night.
We learned about the bears in the area, and the poison oak by our tent.
Poison Oak does not sound fun at all... Yuck.
The next day we made it to Sacramento.
We saw David and met his girlfriend Cate.
And alas the trip ended and we came home.
They're always too short, aren't they?
Here's to next time!

I have really enjoyed reading about your road trip. Makes me really want to go on one.
