Recently I was challenged to take the Revlon Expression Experiment and try something I'd never tried before. Revlon is trying to encourage women to get out there and try new things to express themselves, and they're providing functional tools, education, inspiration, and new products to help with this process. The idea is to push you outside of your comfort zone and get you to be you on a whole new level.
Julie and I decided we'd both try new shades of Color Stay eye shadow as well as take this month's red lipstick challenge. I've never worn red lipstick, or Color Stay eye shadow, so I wasn't sure what we were getting ourselves into.

The best thing about the Color Stay eye shadow is that it doesn't flake off, so it doesn't interfere with my contact lenses! Getting stuff in your eye always sucks, but with contacts it's even worse-so I fully welcomed the fact that this shadow didn't fall into my eyes. It's a welcome reprieve! Another plus to the eye shadow is that it gives you step by step instructions for where to put which color, which we tried, and then we also tried just putting it where we wanted and it looked great too!

As for the red lipstick, we tried the REVLON COLORBURST™ LIPSTICK, the REVLON COLORBURST™ LIP BUTTER, and the REVLON COLORBURST™ LIPGLOSS. We even combined them all. Julie used the Lip Butter and Lipstick together, and I used the lipstick and gloss together. They were great on their own, but mixing them made for some great shine and color! Julie was also a fan of the Revlon nail polish we tried, which was a lovely orange shade.

Personally, I've always been envious of starlets with their red lips. It looks so classy, and alluring... However I never thought I could pull off red lips so I didn't try. Revlon's suggestion that I try something new was empowering, and putting on red lipstick really makes you feel like you can get out there and handle business. So what do you think? Can I pull off the red lipstick?

So how about you? Is there some makeup design you've never tried? I suggest you take the Revlon Expression Experiment and see for yourself what it's like to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. When you try it, please come back and leave me a comment letting me know how it goes, and a link to pictures would be great!
I really want to see how you look when you step outside the zone and empower yourself!
