This weekend was the 2012 Utah Pride Festival in Salt Lake City. I spent the entire weekend volunteering for Cause for Paws Utah, and I have to say I prefer volunteering to attending. It was much more fun hanging out and talking to people in our booth than the half hour I would have walked around and gotten bored. It made me happy.

Our booth was so packed all the time!
One of our fosters was unable to drive down with her dogs, so we went to Bountiful to pick them up. They were so cute-I loved snuggling and loving on them all day.

Backseat full of puppies!

Cookie is the teacup Chihuahua (available) and Chai (adopted now) is the chiweenie on the right

Fizz was our last adoption of the festival. She's going to be renamed Jackie.
We also lost a dog... Lilo bolted from her cage and took off. We chased her but no one could catch her as she ran right out the gate across a busy street and away. Josh chased her several blocks before he lost her. Luckily a very nice lady found her the next day and brought her to the Salt Lake County Animal Services booth and we got her back! She was so scared!
Also, I only put in 5 tickets in our drawing but I won a $100 gift certificate to Cathedral Tattoo with the artist CJ Fishburn (one of the people in charge of CFPU) and now I'm both nervous and excited! I don't know what to get!

In other news...
Thursday night we went and saw Aliens: The Puppet Musical done by Meat 'n' Potato theatre company. It was fantastic. My good friend Meggy did the costumes, but the whole thing was awesome too! It was nerd central, and hilarious! Now I need to watch the Alien movies. If you are anywhere near SLC this weekend, go see it-you wont regret it. Tickets can be bought HERE.
My downstairs neighbor made us cupcakes for always helping the kids out and putting up with them. Now I feel bad for ever complaining because she was so sweet. It reminded me that I need to chill out and be less of a bitch sometimes. They were yummy too!

That's about it...

Very cute dogs. The small ones are always easiest to find homes.
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty. And I still want to take Cookie home. Do you want to put her on a flight to SC for me? =D
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
What a great time! And how sweet of your neighbor. :) I'm glad Lilo was recovered....tattoo time is fun time! I need to get mind re-inked. I would advise putting it in a place that doesn't have a lot of fat/stretch often (so, upper back, or back of calves, or ankles, shoulders, etc). Have fun picking one!
ReplyDeleteAwww....I love this post! I just have such a huge place in my heart for dogs and I hate when someone tells me they just paid $1900 for their new dog (true story) when there are SO MANY that need good homes at local shelters. If my husband wouldn't divorce me, you better believe my back yard would be filled with dogs. You have so many cuties up there. I'm glad you go the runaway back.
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! Cupcakes!!!!!! Yum!
Thanks for linking up with us, Angie!
I just want to snuggle with all those furry faces. Awwww so freaking cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look yummy!
My daughter works a booth for the holistic dog food store we buy our food at events like that and is always calling asking for another dog. It's tough to see so many precious pups in need of a good home, if I could I would have dozens!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look incredible and they're reminding me it's way past lunch time!
THanks for joining the party!
I think it's really cool they gave away a tattoo gift certificate. I say, really think about what means something to you and go for it!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable! As do all the puppies! :) What a cool event - and I have to say, the BEST dog I ever had was a rescue puppy - poor thing was only 6 weeks old when I adopted him, and he was the best buddy ever. He crossed over rainbow bridge after being my best friend for over 13 years. No other dogs have compared to him. Glad the runaway puppy was found! *whew!*
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look yummy - how nice of your neighbor! :)
