Well of course you are "smashing," I know you're amazing.
But I mean Smash*ing. As in the Smash book.
And no, this is not a sponsored post, I promise!
I first saw them when Ricki over at Art @ Home mentioned her color swap partner sent her some, but that they loved them so it was perfect. This made me extremely curious as to what it was so I went over to Michael's and looked at them. At first I thought "Eh, that just looks like a scrabook thing-not interested" and went my way without one. But then I saw this video:
Look how cute that is?
So I grabbed Julie and we went back to look at them again.
This time I came home with all of this:
I bought myself an orange Smashbook (Orange is "Simple Style") along with some tape, an extra pen, some little "To do" signs, a rubber band to hold it closed, and some more extras. I also bought a second one to give as a birthday gift for someone. Julie picked up a "Wedding Style" one and is going to use it as her sign in book at her Reception in October. We also recently picked up one and some supplies to give to Meggy for her birthday too!
Here's some Smashing I've done with old business cards I have laying around; do you see yours? I can spot Beth's and Grace's over there on the right, mine on the left, and Camille's art card down there at the bottom. :) I love it!
I also went back and bought myself a second one that is "International Style" so that I can put all of my travel keepsakes in it. I'm excited to have a place to put all the little things I've been saving that I don't want to get rid of but don't really have a place for!
So do you have a Smash Book?
If so, what do you do with it? I want to know!

As you know, I have purchased my book...and I've got a box of "stuff." Now I just need time to get started. Thanks again for the great project heads up.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome! :)
DeleteHee, hee are you addicted yet, wee lassie? I am SO addicted to Smash Journals....I *heart* them. We should do a smash journal link at the end of the summer or something...see what everyone's putting in their Smash Journal.
ReplyDeleteLOVe that video, too.
xo,
RJ
I'd never heard of these! Super cute :)
ReplyDeleteOMG. So cute! I have to admit, at the beginning of the video I was like "Ugh...it's pinterest...only with more work. It's scrapbooking pinterest." And then I watched on and saw the concert ticket and a doodle and--OMG I HAVE SO MUCH OF THIS STUFF CRAMMED INTO BOXES AND DRAWERS AND SHELVES. It's stuff that I want to keep, but the de-junker in me refuses to let me do so.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing it. Can you only get Smash books/accessories at Michael's? or is this a lot bigger than I realized? There is a Hobby Lobby near me....maybe they have it...
