I was definitely one of the nay-sayers about Lady Gaga. I caught myself singing along just fine to "Just Dance" but when it came to "Poker Face" I drew the line... At first... The more I heard it the more I secretly enjoyed it and still wouldn't admit it.
Until the night my friends and I went to Paper Moon. I spent the entire evening dancing my ass off to the beat of Lady Gaga (and other related music) with some of my closest friends. In the midst of singing along to Bad Romance, I stopped and looked at Kristina and told her "I have to admit, I kind of like Lady Gaga..." To which she bowed her head and said "I have for a few weeks now... In our shame, we were the same!
In any case, I haven't been able to get "Ra ra ah ah ah ah, Roma roma mamaa Gaga Ooo lala" out of my head for weeks now. It's kind of making me crazy. Does that stop me from listening to the song in the car and singing along at the top of my lungs? No. Where's my straight jacket?
I do have to admit I like the lyrics. Somehow to me it says that she's willing to take on loving him and everything that comes with it. A lot of the time these songs are one way or the other-all "butterflies and sunshine love" or complete heartbreak. This one says "I want to love you, and I want to experience all of the good and bad things that come with that." It's kind of awesome.
